Most Popular Quartz Kitchen Worktops Colours – 2018-2019

Spread the love

It’s that time of year, either looking back and reviewing what happened in 2018, or excitedly looking forward to seeing what is coming up in 2019, and the colors of quartz kitchen worktops are no exception. During 2018, four kitchen colors have tended to dominate quartz worktops in the UK: grey, white, black and cream.

Grey quartz worktops

Grey is a very versatile choice for quartz kitchen worktops, as they can have a contemporary or traditional look and feel. Light is a big factor when deciding the hue that you choose for your quartz worktop. Kitchens with minimal light but a dark tone can absorb rather than reflect the light, leaving the room almost dingy and certainly uninviting. Any dark grey tone needs to be offset with a brilliant white where light is in scarce supply. Talking about kitchen colors, grey mixed with an influencing undertone, like a blue, red or yellow, can really over or understate the kitchen worktop and balancing of the two can produce a stunning kitchen.

White Kitchen

White is always a classic choice for any kitchen, modern or traditional, and quartz worktops look especially stunning in this luxurious color. White kitchens are ‘easy’ as they don’t need a lot of demanding color decisions, and it’s deceptively engaging, especially in quartz kitchen worktops. A beautiful white backsplash, perhaps with a London underground tile feel, can really give the room an interesting look, and a darker toned quartz worktop would offset it perfectly. White kitchen worktops with beautiful, wooden stools are very much 2018 in design, and give the room that New York apartment feel.

Black Kitchen

A black kitchen is the white kitchen’s sleek, twin brother, gorgeous, stylish and exciting. There is a reason why colors are often described as, ‘the new black’, and that is because black has everything and quartz worktops that are allied with this color really show their splendor. These twin colors can really work for you in monochrome; black quartz worktops with white cabinetry or vice-versa is an unbeatable combination. An all-black kitchen can be a bit too dark and intimidating but using a charcoal grey on the brickwork, cabinetry and even backsplash, can really turn an unfriendly space into a stunning place to prepare food or even socialize.

Cream Kitchen

Whilst kitchen colors like grey, or even ‘greige’ (grey and beige), black and white tend to dominate 2018 kitchen designs, the cream has broken into the top four on merit, really bringing something to the kitchen table for UK customers. The cream is a versatile color when accompanying quartz worktops, from a rustic style right up to contemporary. Painted cream cabinetry can give any kitchen that pastoral finish, accompanied by a soft-toned quartz kitchen worktop. Cream allies itself with light and can really add a dimension of space to a kitchen, so more diminutive kitchens have benefitted from this color in 2018, and it looks like it will become even more popular in 2019.

The ‘big four’s’ kitchen colors domination in 2018 is already looking to carry on its popularity into 2019, although aqua colors are also making significant inroads into the minds of kitchen designers. Regardless, with a quartz worktop, any of these major choices, and even the minor ones, would benefit, as this material can really augment the brilliance of these colors to make anyone’s kitchen a magnetic focal point in the home.
