Good-bye 2013, hello 2014!
Wow, it’s seems like yesterday I was writing resolutions for 2013 and today it is already the first day of 2014! I must say that 2013 was a really good year for me: I have met so many wonderful people, traveled to amazing places and learned so many new things. I have completed several interesting interior design projects, launched my online home decor boutique and at the moment I am full of ideas and goals for next this year.
One of the things I am really proud of is my blog. Looking at the statistics and see where it was one year ago and how it has grown makes me really proud. Yesterday I received (as any other WordPress user) a review of 2013.
Here’s an excerpt:
The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 77,000 times in 2013. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 3 days for that many people to see it.
These are the posts that got the most views in 2013:
- Top CAD Software For Interior Designers: Review 67 COMMENTS March 2013
- How to create a sample board for Interior Design project 26 COMMENTS May 2013
- Exposed stone walls in interior design: 13 decorating tips and ideas 16 COMMENTS April 2013
- Art Nouveau Interior Design: Get The Style 27 COMMENTS February 2013
- Home Decorating Trends For 2014 14 COMMENTS October 2013
My blog was visited by people from 178 countries and most visitors came from The United States. The United Kingdom & Canada were not far behind.
I am really grateful for all comments which I receive on my blog. It motivates me as nothing else and here I want to mention and thank people who have left most of them. All of them have really amazing blogs too, please check them out, I love all of them:
– Susan from Through The Wardrobe
– Taryn from Chicago ReDesign
– Elly from Caribbean Living
– Debra from Artissima
– Doris from Diary Of An Interior Novice
For 2014 I don’t want to put any goals for my blog. I will leave it as a place where I share my inspirations and ideas and see where it will take me. One of the things though which I wanted to announce is that my blog will be moved soon from WordPress.com to WordPress.org. The main reason for this is that I want to have full control over design and layout as well as start to monetize it. I hope you understand this decision as maintaining blog with own domain and design costs money and I want it to become self-sustaining.
I wish this year will bring to all of us lots of happiness, success and accomplishing of all our dreams!
