My Tiny Studio in Marbella, Spain

Spread the love

Living in a tiny place is very challenging – you have to be super organized and ready to commit to a minimalist lifestyle in order to keep your home neat and comfortable. When I just moved to Spain and settled in this tiny studio in Casco Antiguo I had to completely revise my way of living and things that I really need in everyday routine.

Basically, this tiny home in the heart of Marbella consists of one small room and a terrace. It is located on the upper floor in the attic space.

There is a small kitchen with a fridge, cooker and a sink, bed, dining table with two chairs and a bathroom with bathtub.

The main challenge when living in a small place like this is to find space for storage. I had to come up with some creative storage solutions such as plastic containers under the bed where I store seasonal clothes that I don’t wear at the moment.

Tiny kitchen disciplines to be organized in terms of cooking and shopping. I usually don’t buy more food than I need for the next day. This way I only have fresh products each day and I don’t waste food. I am totally against over-consumption and huge fridges that somehow force you to buy more food than you actually need.

Needless to say that in Spain there are plenty of places to eat delicious food outside home and I actually rarely cook.

I really love the Mediterranean vibe that this studio has, starting from terracotta floor tiles, rattan furniture and Moroccan ceiling lamp. Winters in Spain can be quite chilly, that’s why I was very excited to get this gorgeous Turquoise rug as a part of the collaboration with Unique Rug Store.

The bathroom is also decorated in Mediterranean style using these beautiful blue and white tiles.

The favorite in this house for me is the terrace. It has an incredible view on the old town of Marbella and the sea. Since it is protected from all sides by the roofs of other buildings it is usually very quite and warm even on a windy day. I have made this day bed made of pallets and bought an outdoor table with chairs. Both plants that I have are the citrus trees and I already tried my own limes and oranges this year.

The terrace also has an outdoor shower which I especially appreciate during hot summer days. It also makes very easy to clean the terrace and to maintain the plants. Studio in Spain

Sitting on this terrace with a glass of wine during the warm summer sunsets is priceless!

I have my own separate entryway to the studio, which I use to keep my daily shoes and jackets. Here you can check my idea of converting a simple garden trellis into vertical storage for shoes. I totally love the celeste blue colour of the walls which in combination with terracotta floor tiles makes this tiny space so cozy and inviting.

What do you think of this space? Will you be able to live in a tiny home like that? Looking forward to reading your comments!
