Egloo Candle Powered Heater Product Review

I am a huge fan of Kickstarter as I like to discover new invents and creative ideas. That’s why I was thrilled when I was offered to review one of Egloo candle powered heaters – I have never seen something like this before.

Egloo is a new way to heat, humidify and scent your house. It has a very unique and authentic design – because of its compact dimensions, it became a great addition to my tiny apartment in Marbella. I must say that winters in Spain can be quite chilly because most of the houses do not have the central heating system and most of the people use electrical heaters at homes (when I got my first electricity bill in January I must admit that my jaw has dropped). Egloo is a great solution to get some extra warmth without spending any of the electrical energy. It is extremely easy to use: you just put a metal plate inside and fill it with a special crushed candle which has no smoke or smell while it burns. 15 minutes after lighting Egloo burner reaches very high temperatures, enough to heat a small room.

Egloo heaters have a natural wooden wick that produces a pleasant crackling sound while it burns and a higher flame and much more heat than the one of a normal candle. The device consists of two handmade clay domes. This original and thoughtful structure allows using the energy produced by the candle at its maximum. That combines the study of form and knowledge of Italian Terracotta craftsmanship. The heater available in three versions – natural, colored and glazed. I have got the natural one and it compliments perfectly the rustic atmosphere that I have in my apartment.

Egloo is not only a heater but also a humidifier and fragrance device. You can add a few drops of essential oil mixed with water inside the metal plate and within few minutes your house will be filled with pleasant aroma. Egloo in their online shop also sells their signature scents made by Italian master perfumers. They are obtained from flowers, fruits, spices, berries, barks, resins, leaves, herbs, mosses, roots and gourmand notes.
