Inspiration of the day: Piero Fornasetti

One of my most favorite decorators ever Piero Fornasetti designed so many fabulous pieces of furniture I can never be tired of looking at.  Among all numerous templates created by him perhaps the most famous is the image of opera singer Lina Cavalieri. Her unforgettable face was an instant source of inspiration for Fornasetti and became one of the most recognizable designs in the world.

Brand new designs created by Piero’s son Barnaba often involve the usage of the father’s archive. Among the re-inventions one of the pieces which I admire is the Trumeau “Fun Fan”. It is so beautiful and so functional at the same time. It has a lot of drawers and useful compartments all covered with paintings which creates a very unusual and illusory look.
