5 Easy & Quick Tips : To Style for Fall

It’s Fall already ! Pretty sure most of us are scrambling to spruce up our home for this crisp chilly weather. A perfect topic to continue my 5 Easy Quick Tips Series .
So here are some of my most simple ideas to get our homes styled for Fall …
1) Layer it Up : Bring in the Coziness to your space by adding Layers – Use throws and rugs into your design , toss in pillows & cushions. You could even group & layer accents & tchotchkes on your coffee table and shelves.
2) Add Fabrics : They have an inherent quality to add comfort to a space. Wool , Cotton , Chenille are most commonly used. Luxurious Cashmere is an excellent choice. For a more traditional Fall look … try plaid & menswear fabrics with the trendy houndstooth pattern.
3) Bring the Outdoors In : Organic & Natural accents are Hot for Fall styling ! Use elements like twines , twigs , branches , acorns , pinecones etc to style the table. If you like a more modern look … spray paint them with a nice metallic paint.
4) Visuals : Using typical & traditional Fall symbols like Leaves in shades of Red , Pinecones , Owls and Pumpkins in your décor will bring in that warmth and comfort that we so sub-consciously crave for during this weather. Lanterns are top pick this season for candle holders.

5) The Aroma effect : Light up scented candles & incense sticks that bring in the Fall Mood like cinnamon & ginger breads , pumpkin spice and earthy maple . Nothing can beat the fragrance of fresh-off-the-oven apple pies as you walk in through the door.
You may notice that I did not mention about choosing specific colors for Fall decorating . I believe that you can design & decorate for any particular season in various styles … modern , traditional , minimalist , eclectic etc. So the choice of colors can reflect your personal taste. For example , the traditional color choices would be deep reds and green.
