Eco-Design: Coffee Bar Takava in Kiev

Spread the love

Hello friends! In today’s post I want to share this beautiful project of a coffee bar in Kiev created by Yudin Design Studio

Details:

  • Area: 85 m2
  • Year of implementation: end 2019
  • Authors: Aleksandr Yudin, Vladimir Yudin – YUDIN Design studio
  • Photographer: Sergey Savchenko

About the project:

A mystical coincidence close in its vibrations to the atmosphere of Bali. On the eve of 2020, the famous Ukrainian designers Brothers Yudin completed work on the interior of TAKAVA Coffee-Buffet coffee bar in the Balinese style.

TAKAVA Coffee-Buffet is a coffee bar chain styled by YUDIN Design studio. In 2017, the first establishment appeared and with its brand identity proposed by Vladimir and Aleksandr Yudin.

In each new establishment, the brand is revealed and interpreted in a new way: depending on the scale and mission of the location. The coffee bar in the famous Kyiv shopping center Rivermall differs both in its menu (coffee, mainly grown in the countries of Southeast Asia), and its location (an island in a shopping center). Both factors have inspired the owners and designers to bring an island feel to the bar design! Hence the painting behind the bar, a long lamp (also tray for the climbing plants) above the service area and the ubiquitous giant plants in the interior.

Materials and colors are also sustained in the direction of eco.

The floors are covered with dark decking. The specialists of YUDIN Design also projected an unusual structure for the guests’ arrangement, reminiscent of an auditorium. It is very comfortable thanks to the width of the levels: on each level, the Brothers Yudin arranged seats and miniature tables for 1-2 people.

The auditorium has become a favorite place for children and young people with a full view of the snow-white cafe decorated with live plants. As the auditorium is lined with a dark board, Aleksandr and Vladimir Yudin provided an atmospheric lighting for each tier. You can also recharge smartphones and other devices here!

Opposite the bar, the Brothers Yudin set up a long table suitable for a large company or to celebrate special events. This boomerang-shaped table is a unifying element that is able to introduce people and bring them together. The rest of the tables in the cafe look more standard: they are round and are designed for 2-3 people. The tables are surrounded by original chairs from SOKOLOVA design studio.

In addition to the central lighting provided by the shopping center, TAKAVA Coffee-Buffet is decorated with designer lamps from YUDIN Design studio, similar in shape to the aforementioned common table and resembling either boomerangs or birds. In general, if you do not take into account the theme of the coffee bar, you can see a clear adherence to the Scandinavian style in the interior. Nevertheless, open ventilation ducts, massive pipes and wiring are clear elements of the loft style, which in this case looks very positive, thanks to the white color. The roof structure of the shopping center brings futuristic motives to the atmosphere.

Therefore, the coffee bar as a whole cannot be attributed to any particular interior style. It is rather an eclecticism of modern trends, seasoned with Balinese themes!
