It has been a common addition in most households in the world and many of these plants are chosen mainly for aesthetics. A lot of people are still not aware of the exact benefits of having these plants inside of their homes other than their role in purifying the air. This is a common plant because of how easy it can be grown and multiplied at home. This plant is the ideal one you put in the bedroom as it can work throughout the night while you are sleeping by converting the carbon dioxide you exhale into oxygen. Aside from that, they are great in purifying the air from toxins that come from materials used for the home including cement, paint, and metal. Being one of the most low-maintenance plants, you can leave them out to dry for a time then water them only a few times every now and then. They won’t need too much sun so they can be indoors for a long time.

This is one plant you must have seen in a lot of homes and backyard. It is also called a corn plant due to its color that resembles the color of the corn plant. It can be left alone to thrive on its own for a long time. It is one of those bigger plants that can be easily replanted if you see sprouts around its branches. The leaves are also large so cleaning them individually would be easy to do. During the rainy days, you would notice how well they can hold water in its crown. Younger and smaller plants can be transferred to indoor planters to be placed inside the home. If you put them on a larger pot, they will also grow larger. If they outgrow their container over time, you can transfer them into bigger ones or you can plant them back outdoors again.

If you want an indoor flowering plant then a Peace Lily is the one for your home. It looks so pure with its white petals while being a great combat against a dangerous house chemical known as Benzene. If you are conscious of mold spores in the air, these plants will sort it out for you because they are known to remove these in areas of the home where there is most moisture including the laundry room, bathroom, and the kitchen. They are great to place in areas that are dim and shady and would require less watering.

Ficus Lyrata

The plant has a long, elegant stem and branches with broad, leathery leaves. Plants specialists suggest placing it “under a skylight or next to a window.” In other words, you need as much sun as possible. The professional also recommends pruning the upper branches when growing above the window frame. The leaves of this plant serve as an air purifier. It helps to eliminate dust and controls humidity.
