E.S.K - Evidence Skincare Personalised Set Review

I have recently tried new skincare product and was extremely happy with the results. In today’s post I want to share the detailed review of it.

The brand is called E.S.K (Evidence Skin Care) and is a skin care range created by Australian doctors. Their main goal was to create the cosmetics that would combat the serious damage that harsh sun, pollution and stresses can do to the skin. E.S.K only uses ingredients that independent, published clinical trials have shown to work. The range includes anti-oxidants in their most effective form that help repair sun damage, reduce the visible signs of aging and promote collagen production. Hydroxy acids exfoliate and renew the skin while moisturisers and botanicals nourish the skin.

The beauty of these skincare products is that they are completely personalised to make sure they best suit and benefit your skin. E.S.K sent me a detailed questionnaire to find out what type of skin I have, and what are the major struggles I have to keep it young and beautiful. After that they created a personalised skincare routine for me and sent me only those products that would suit my skin and also compliment each other to get the most of its ingredients. Here is the set that I have got:

The box has included:

L (enlighten) – 4-n-B a highly effective tyrosinase inhibition agent, lightens and Niacinamide brightens the skin. It should be applied in the morning before the sunscreen, as well as in the evening for enhanced results.

0 – Calming cleanse. It is a gentle creamy soap free cleanser to remove makeup. Coconut and sugar cleanser with soothing botanicals including Aloe Vera, Lavender, Rose, Soy extract and Orchid.

2 – Reverse “C” Serum. Anti-oxidant Vitamins C and E in their most potential form: Ascorbic Acid and Tocopherol work to repair and prevent the appearance of aging including the lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and skin roughness.

3 – Zinc shade. Zinc based moisturizing cream. Provides year round increased levels of broad spectrum protection from UVA (aging) readiation and SPF15 to protect from UVB (burning of the sun). May also be used as a primer.

5 – Ultimate A. Vitamin A and B based night cream. These powerful ingredients effortlessly promote your healthiest skin. Vitamin A promotes collagen growth and regulates the skin while Vitamin B improves the skin barrier function an promotes an even skin tone.

According to the evidence, people with sensitive skin (like mine) should be looking for these ingredients:

Zinc Oxide based SPF – Recommended for daily use. They are generally best tolerated and help protect us from premature aging, skin damage and cancers associated with UV exposure.

Retinal (Vitamin A): Vitamin A is the go-to ingredient for anti-aging, acne an Rosacea. Retinal (very rarely used) is the most effective and least irritating form.

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): improves skin barrier function and improves dry skin, rozacea and eczema. It also reduces pigmentation, acne and the risk of skin cancer.

L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): anti-oxidant – protects and repairs sun damage, wrinkles, roughness and pigmentation. Note: only L-Ascorbic Acid has evidence.

4-N-B (Tyrosinase inhibitor – TI): TI’ are slow acting but regarded as the most effective path for depigmentation. 4-n-B stands out as a non-irritating TI, safe for long term use.

Apart from sending me the products E.S.K also has included in the parcel the recommendations on how to take care about my skin.

For example, people with sensitive skin should avoid strong soaps, products with strong scent, products with Hydroxy acids or high alcohol content and most forms of vitamin A (except Retinal) should be avoided as they will most likely irritate the skin. Avoid excessive sun exposure as UVA (aging and tanning rays) and UVB (burning rays) can both reduce the skin’s barrier function and increase sensitivity. In winter, try not to expose the skin to excess cold or wind.

It’s been one week that I am using the E.S.K skincare. The products don’t leave any irritation or unpleasant sensation after application. The skin feels hydrated and the constant sensation of dryness that I usually have has gone. I also have noticed that multiple pigmentation stains that I have on my skin have become brighter.
