DIY Christmas Wall Hanging Decoration
Are you decorating for Christmas already? Well, I am – it is still end of November, but Christmas spirit is already all over. Most of the shops here in Paris already installed their festive decorations and in the supermarkets the shelves are full with Christmas products.
We live next to the beautiful park so this winter I decided to bring nature inside and decorate our house with tree branches, pine cones, dry oranges and any other cute things that I will find outside.
I started with making this wall hanging, that I placed above our sofa. I spotted the idea on Pinterest and thought that it is super easy to make this DIY project. Also, you don’t need to spend anything on supplies. Another advantage is that this decor is fully recyclable, and unlike plastic Christmas trees and garlands it will be returned to its mother nature, after the season is over. So here it is how to make this DIY Christmas wall hanging decoration.
Supplies
So basically you will need a big branch, durable threads and coniferous branches (they won’t become brown after sometime, like other trees).
Instructions
First cut the necessary amount of the same length threads (I made around 70 cm), considering to leave around 6-8 cm in between.
Start attaching all threads to the main branch.
Then attach the coniferous branches to the threads: I did it by simply making a knot around the stem. I put in between 3 to 4 branches to each thread, but you can really making less or more depending on what kind of look you want to create.
Voila, your DIY Christmas wall hanging decoration is ready!
Attach it to to the wall using another thread and a nail. This wall hanging would look cool above the sofa, headboard or dining table. The Christmas spirit is here, and the house looks very cozy and inviting now. Another idea is to add to such wall hangings lighting garlands, dried oranges or pine cones. I am planning to do more decorations with tree branches and place them in other corners of our house.
