My Favorite Boots For Fall in Paris: EMU Australia
This is my first fall in Paris. And to be honest I didn’t expect it to be thaaaat cold. After Marbella, it is really hard to get used to the local climate, with its humidity, lots of raining and cool temperatures. That’s why finding right clothes and shoes to keep me warm in fall and winter was my first priority after moving.
The new favourite addition to my wardrobe is EMU Australia Ellin Pop boots. These fashionable Chelsea boots are made of a cow leather using waterproof technology (I think this is essential for the wet climate on the north of France). Australian Merino wool lining keeps the feet warm and comfortable. Natural leather adapts to the shape of the foot and already after first wearing you feel it like a second skin.
I love to match them with skinny or bootcut jeans in grey or blue color. Brown and black is a perfect timeless combination that would be trendy even five years later.
This weekend we went to the famous Les Deux Plateaux (Colonnes De Buren). This is perhaps one of the most recognisable spots in Paris.
This modern art installation was created by Daniel Buren – the prominent French sculptor and conceptual artist. This is probably the most unusual creation in the open air in Paris. The paradox is that the “striped columns of Buren” are located next to the famous historical monument – the Palais Royal, built by Cardinal Richelieu and subsequently donated to the king of France.
The construction of a modern installation, better known as the Parisian columns of Buren, began in 1980. It is interesting that the sculptor received an order for an unusual design from the Minister of Culture Jacques Lang. The project caused controversy among architects and the discontent of citizens. Â However, with time the citizens start to love it, and tourists come here to make the most cool Instagram shots.
Unusual work is perceived by everyone in different ways: with a smile or surprise, negatively or with admiration. But one thing is certain – Buren’s columns do not leave anyone indifferent.
After that we went for a walk to the park. This was another test on new boots for their waterproof qualities. After the drops of water dried, they left no marks on the surface of the boots, and I didn’t feel any discomfort on my feet while walking. I totally think that this will be my favourite pair of boots the upcoming winter in Paris!
