Penne With Tuna, Tomato And Green Peas
Penne with tuna – this is a super easy and super delicious recipe that will take you only around 20 minutes to cook it. As a result, you will get a nutritious, healthy and very tasty dish, that will be good for lunch or dinner. Here is how to make it.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kilo of whole grain pasta (penne rigate)
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 400 g jar of tomato sauce
- 1 large can of tuna (400 grams)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 carrot
- 1 celery
- 1/2 of bell pepper
- 200 grams of frozen green peas
- 1 laurel leaf
Preparation
- Cook pasta in a large amount of boiling salted water. Follow the instruction on the packet to not overcook it. Pasta should be slightly firm, “al dente”.
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and add chopped vegetables – onion, garlic, carrots, pepper, laurel leaf. Cook for about 3 minutes.
- Add tomato paste and heat until almost boiling. Then reduce the heat to medium. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes. Gently add tuna, green peas and stir for 1 minute.
Drain pasta and add it to the vegetable mixture. Toss over low heat to combine.
