What To Do In New York City For Entertainment
If you ask me what is my favorite city in the world, I will answer without hesitating – New York!
New York City is a city that never sleeps. It’s bustling with activity at all hours of the day and thus there is always something to do. Whether it’s 2am or 8am, the lights of New York never dim. With Time Square’s constant brightness and all of the different activities options during the day/night, you will never be bored. Should you find yourself in New York City at any point, there are a few items you need to put on your visitor checklist. Starting with, of course, the infamous Central Park, following by Times Square, food options, museums and even a Broadway show.
Central Park
Visiting New York’s Central Park is a classic. Not only enjoyed by locals, but it’s also something all tourists in the city should visit. Some must-see attractions while in Central Park are the Belvedere Castle, Central Park Zoo, Conservatory Garden, Central Park Carousel, among others. Depending on the season you are visiting, you can even go ice-skating in the park.
Times Square
Times Square could very well be the heart of New York. The flashing billboards, the buzz of taxis and the constant movement of people you find in Times Square is all part of the NYC experience. It’s what makes up New York. If there is one item that you should add to your NYC tourist agenda, next to Central Park, it is Times Square.
Food
As with any place you travel, eating the local food is a must. Eating the food in the places you visit is a way to immerse yourself in that particular culture. Search for what-to-eat guides and try some famous New York style pizza, cheesecake, bagel, and pretzels.
Museum(s)
New York City is not lacking in its museums. As hubs of culture, some of the big name museums include the Museum of Natural History, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, The Guggenheim, among others. These are among the world’s most famous museums and are worth a visit. Pick and choose the ones that you most want to see, as seeing them all while spending a few hours in each could take up the entire trip itself.
Broadway
New York is the pinnacle for Broadway as it dates back to the 18th Century. The city is a place where artists have flocked to throughout time. The art presence has been developed to a point where not many other cities can compete with New York’s growing appeal to artists. While visiting, look into purchasing NYC theater tickets to see a play in one of the world’s most famous cities.
New York City is a buzzing city. There’s always something going on, and it’s a hub for artists, celebrities, and those that want to ‘make it’ in the world. Countless Hollywood movies have been filmed in New York City and continue to be filmed. It’s a popular city filled with various options for entertainment. Last time in New York I also visited Zumba class and was delighted with the experience! If you want to do that as well just don’t forget to wear these special shoes for your classes – I got one and they were super comfortable.
If there is something that is certain, it’s that you won’t ever leave New York feeling bored.
