Creating a Spa-Retreat at Home
Grey sky, cool mornings and brown leaves… The first signs of autumn are already here. In these cold and rainy days, it is so nice to pamper yourself with a warm and relaxing bath. I am a huge supporter of the idea that bathroom should not only a place for hygiene procedures, but rather a peaceful sanctuary, where you can seclude yourself and enjoy complete privacy and full relaxation. In fact, it is not that difficult to convert an ordinary bathroom into a spa-retreat. You can achieve this with simple elements like candles, fragrance sticks, natural greenery and of course various beauty-care products. I love to create organic cosmetics myself, entirely made of natural ingredients and in this post, I want to share two of my favorite recipes.
1. Bath tea
The first recipe is based on the sea-salt, but I love to call it “Bath Tea” since it contains lots of natural herbs. Depending on what ingredients you put inside, such teas can have relaxing, tonic, energizing or sedative effect. Here is the recipe for calming tea.
- Â 70 g of Sea Salt
- 1 t. spoon of Chamomile flowers
- 1 t. spoon of Valerian roots
- 1 t. spoon of Lavender flowers
- 1 t. spoon of  Peppermint leaves
- 1 t. spoon of Sage leaves
The duration of bath shouldn’t exceed 20 minutes and the temperature of water be more than 40 C.
2. Coffee body scrub
After this delicious scrub your body will be fully recharged and your skin become very smooth and rejuvenated. It is perfect to fight first signs of ageing and cellulite. It has a very strong abrasive effect so I don’t recommend to use it more than 1 time per week.
 Ingredients:
- Half cup of olive oil
- Half cup of coffee grounds
- 2 table spoons of honey
- 1 tea spoon of cinnamon
Yes, and one thing not forget are beautiful jars for your cosmetics. In interior styling – there are no little things, each detail is important! I bought these ones from the nearest store and absolutely adore them:
