Use of Colour to Add A Certain Mood To Rooms
Colour is an important element to add in your decor, it adds great amounts of visual interest, it’s responsible for sobering up or on the other hand brightening a room and further the type of colour you choose can also influence the mood of the room. A newly wed couple may want a romantic bedroom while a child may want a happening room, you may want a cosy kitchen or a warm and inviting living room, whatever feel or mood you prefer for a specific room, it can always be achieved by the use of right colours for furniture, walls, wall canvas and flooring etc.
PINK AND REDS
If you want a bold look then dark is the colour to go for while a soft feminine look can easily be brought about by use of pink. Both of these colours are warm thus they are perfect for rooms where not a lot a of natural light falls upon; the lighter you go with pink for poor lighting the brighter your room will appear. Further these colours successfully add fun, passion and romance to a room; they can also give a contemporary touch when combined with the perfect accessories. Hints of red can always be used to add pops of colour in any neutral room, such as a red panoramic canvas prints on a white wall.
BLUE, PURPLE AND GREENS
Blue and greens are all about nature and are they perfect additions if you are looking for a calm, relaxing and highly comfortable room. Lighter shades of these colours can be used for a brightening and soft feel while sharper and darker shades can be used for a bold outcome or to create a statement. Very sharp shades such as navy or midnight blue can always be added in panels for a dramatic effect, you wouldn’t want to over do it thus its best to combine the panels with lighter shades or with white.
WHITE AND CREAMS
This is of course the most famous colour and a small amount of it at the least is a must have for all rooms to neutralise your other colours. Anything bold can stand on white while on its own it creates a serene and peaceful environment. Any room with low daylight can be made inviting with the use of white or any tight room can be made spacious with white walls.
YELLOW
This is not for rooms which receive a lot of sunlight, especially in the morning but it’s perfect for brightening up any room. It can add fun and style if you are going for a smart, contemporary or retro decor, plus it looks great in small amounts in print in combination with other colours.
