Rented! Our New Home…
Searching for a new apartment is exciting yet exhausting at the same time. To be honest, as was near to panic as thought that we would never be able to find something in Riga that will suit our taste and our budget. The main requirement for us was to live in the centre and needless to say that all apartments here are way more expensive than in the suburb. Yet, when I was about to be desperate we found what we were looking for! In the most central district of the city, and very quite at the same time, there was our little nest waiting for us. Actually I  immediately fell in love with this building. You rarely find something like this nowadays among those panel monsters of mass construction. Our beauty was built in the beginning of the last century. All wooden, it has very charming and somewhat provincial look. Two storeys only, it has also a rentable attic – and that is ours now!
I never lived in the attic before, so was totally thrilled by the idea, especially when I saw the apartment inside. In minimalistic Scandinavian design, it has mostly white walls and rustic, wooden furnishings. So here is the entrance area: our living room: Working space (you see I told you in one of the previous posts that in my new apartment I will definitely have one!): Lovely kitchen – small, yet very efficient: Spacious bedroom:  And bathroom: The view is very charming too:
All weekend we were busy moving – need to say that carrying all our stuff up on the third floor was quite hectic. Now I am so excited about arranging and redecorating our beautiful attic. The owner was so kind to allow us to repaint the walls (not in a crazy colour though) and to get rid of all furniture we don’t need.
Now, I really need for some more inspiration! How would you decorate an attic apartment like ours? Would be soooo grateful for any ideas and comments! In the meanwhile, I am sure that my next post will be about beautiful attic rooms….
