Best Algarve’s Beaches With Auguste The Label
During our recent trip to the south of Portugal, we have visited some of the best beaches Europe has to offer so in this post I want to share with you my list of them.
During this journey, I was dressed in my favorite Sunset Midi dress from Auguste The Label.
The dress is made from ramie (one of the strongest natural fibers in the world) with a scoop neckline, crossover straps and summer-ready side splits. It is super comfortable to wear and I love how versatile and stylish it looks on any occasion – whether it is some pastime on the beach or leisure walks in the nearby town.
So here is the list of some of the most spectacular beaches that we have seen on the Algarve coast. By the way, many of them have been awarded the prestigious blue flag (the Oscar among the beaches).
At the same time, the beaches here are very diverse: somewhere you can perfectly sunbathe and swim, and somewhere you can’t do anything except surfing.
Praia Da Rocha
A very wide coastline, stretching for several kilometers. It has a lot of restaurants and bars and during the summertime is full of tourists. This beach is called “California of Europe”. Rocks surrounding the beach create a spectacular effect. The name of the beach is actually translated as the “rock beach”.
Who will love: It is worth going here for a family beach holiday. There is plenty of entertainment for children and for adults – riding a “banana”, jet ski rentals, beach football, and volleyball.
Praia Da Rocha is also famous for its nightlife. There are plenty of bars and restaurants here and recently was also opened a casino. I recommend to try the seafood here – it is very fresh since purchased every morning from local fishermen. One of the most well known traditional dishes is grilled sardines.
Praia Da Dona Ana
This beach is called the Algarve’s classics: rocks, sea, and white sand. It is located on the edge of Lagos. In addition to relaxing on the beach, you should go on a boat with a transparent bottom to the grottoes of Piedade.
Who will love: if you want romance – you will find it here.
Also, this beach is popular among snorkeling lovers. Moreover, the water here is slightly warmer than on the other beaches.
Be careful with high and low tides. Many tourists at low tide climb to remote parts of the beach, but when the tide gets high it is becoming problematic to get out of there. If you are traveling with children, I also don’t recommend this beach as your first choice – it is very small and after sometimes kids tend to get bored.
Praia Do Carvalho
If you come to this tiny beach sandwiched between the rocks early in the morning, you will be totally amazed by the serenity of the surrounding landscape.
The place is really very atmospheric, and you can even call it intimate (but of course, not during the high season).
Who will love: If you like to combine a beach holiday with activities like a tour of the grottoes and caves, this is the place for you. At Praia do Carvalho you can rent a boat (of course, with a local boatman), which will show you the most hidden places in the rocks.
Praia Do Amado
This beach is one of the most favorite among surfers from around the world. There is a very good wave and very few people around so you can just enjoy surfing. On nearby beaches sometimes you will find no people at all.
Who will like: first of all, of course, surfers. Both experienced and beginners, because there are many surfing schools around. Sometimes competitions are organized here, which is interesting to visit even as a spectator. If you like camping this beach is also great for setting up the tent.
