How to Utilize Your Limited Bedroom Space ?
In a perfect world, every room in your home would be as large as you need it to be. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world. If your bedroom is too small and cluttered, there are a few ways that you can maximize the limited amount of space that you have.
Get a Smaller Bed
You may love the comfort that a king size bed provides, however, it is just taking up space. A queen size bed or a full-size bed should be more than enough, and it will free up a great deal of space.
Get Rid of Your Bureau
Most people have more than one bureaus in their room. This can take up a great deal of space. Because your bureau is filled with your clothes, you would need a place to put them if you are going to get rid of your bureau. Rather than getting rid of the bureau and throwing away perfectly good clothes, you can shop for bed bases online. You can find bed bases with drawers, which will give you enough storage space to put your clothes.
Use the Wall for Storage
If you have no room to store things in your bedroom, you should consider using the walls. You can purchase cabinets that hang on the walls, to store clothing, jewellery, and anything that you cannot fit in your closet. Many of these are very stylish. You can also install bookshelves on the walls of your closets, giving you more storage space for clothing and shoes.
Remove Your Television Stand
If you have a television stand in your room, take it out. It will save a great deal of space. Obviously, you will need a place to put your television. If you mount it on the wall, you will be able to see it better from the bed, and it won’t take up any space at all.
Use Other Closets for Storage
If you have a small closet and you cannot fit everything inside, you can use a hall closet or the closet in the spare room. When summer comes, you can take all of your winter clothes and store them in another closet, leaving more than enough room for your spring and summer clothes. When it starts to get cool, you can switch your spring and summer clothes out for your fall and winter clothes.
Hang Mirrors
If you hang large mirrors in your room, it will give the appearance of a larger room. You can purchase mirrored closet doors or a decorative mirror on an entire wall. It may not give you additional storage space, but it will make your room look larger than it is.
Hang a Shoe Rack Behind the Closet Door
If you have more shoes than you need, but cannot bear to part with any of them, you should invest in a shoe rack. The shoes will be up off the floor and you won’t need to worry about taking up space that you don’t have.
Switch Out Your Bulky Bedside Table
If you have a bedside table complete with a drawer and a shelf on the bottom, it is taking too much space. All you really need is a small table with a flat top for books, drinks, and your phone. Anything bigger is just taking up too much room.
Just because you have a small bedroom, it doesn’t mean that you need to feel cramped when you are in there. There are plenty of ways that you can free up space in your bedroom and your closet.
