Weekend Loves from the Regency Shop
In today’s post I wanted to share with you my favorites from the Regency Shop – a very cool place to look for modern furniture including famous retro design reproductions. They source their furniture from around the globe and you can get amazing designer pieces at very affordable prices.
Their modern furniture line includes chairs, sofas, loungers, dining sets and lighting.
My first favorite product is famous Ibiza chair. It was created by Mies van der Rohe in 1929 and since then it became one of the most popular design pieces ever known.
Another timeless design is Chesterfield sofa. There is something extremely luxurious, elegant and old-fashioned about it. However I can perfectly see it in a modern style space to make it look a bit more grounded and solid.
My pick number three is the Egg chair
It was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the Radisson SAS hotel in Copenhagen. I would imagine this chair in a relaxing reading nook in a bedroom or a living room. You can choose from the variety of colours and materials (I would opt for pastel, tender hues):
Another favorite product is the Wassily chair
The Wassily chair was created by Marcel Breuer, and was named after Bauhaus professor Wassili Kandinsky. Both Breuer and Kandinsky were Bauhaus teachers. The chair was a product of functionalist approach to design and was inspired by Breuer’s bicycle.
The Panton Chair is rather a sculpture than just an ordinary furniture piece. Fluid in movement, its innovative futuristic shape made Panton chair an iconic piece and symbol of the pop-culture. I often consider Panton chairs for various interior design projects because of their versatility and elegance. In the Regency shop they come in three colours: black, red and white. My favorite is black – same as little black dress, it always looks chic:
Eileen Gray side table
One more classic created by famous Irish furniture designer Eileen Gray. This circular glass E-1027 table was inspired by the tubular steel experiments of Marcel Breuer at the Bauhaus. It can be used as a side table for a chair, bed or sofa – it is a wonderful piece that combines functionality and aesthetics. Its sleek, minimalistic design looks very airy and light.
Viscontea ceiling lamp
Flos, ‘Viscontea’ lamp was designed by brothers Achille and Piergiacomo Castiglioni in Italy in 1960. It provides soft and diffused ambient light. It has an internal steel structure covered with a unique “cocoon” resin to create the diffuser.
Another stunning modernist piece created by brothers Castiglioni in 1962. and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Carrara marble is used for the base, while oversized telescopic stem and shade is made of stainless steel. There are no electric wires on display that might create walking hazards.
