My Trip to Washington D.C.
Hello my lovely readers!
I haven’t been blogging for more than a week and it does feel a little bit strange – it’s already a habit to record here everything interesting what’s going on with me… And there were a lot of things happening! First of all I was invited to make a public speech in front of 200 people about interior design trends. It was my first public speech ever and I was extremely nervous. It took me almost one week to prepare the presentation and rehearse it several times in front of the mirror until I almost learned it by heart. I will definitely write about the whole experience in a separate post.
Secondly I have done my second trip to the U.S. – yay! I was in Washington D.C. for two weeks and I really enjoyed it. During my last visit I felt like this city is a little bit boring for me. This time I have an opportunity to explore it more, I have done lots of things, the weather was nicer so I don’t think like this anymore.
I came during the Cherry Blossom Festival. It is really something worth seeing. There are numerous concerts, performances, parades – tourists come from all over the world, the city feels crowded and fun.
So I took like a thousand photos of cherry blossoms:
I have visited all the memorials around the pond:
I really enjoyed the formal and classic architecture of the city:
I visited the National Building Museum. They organize free excursions around the building and I really recommend it – our guide was great! Apparently this building is a copy of another building located in Rome, Italy – the architect used it as inspiration and copied almost every detail of the facade. So basically one of the oldest and notable buildings is only an architectural replica…. The interior looks very strange – mixture of Classicism and Costco style.
I also visited National Art Gallery and really enjoyed its contemporary section:
Now I am in the airport waiting for my flight to Milan to visit Salone Del Mobile 2016. It’s the first time I attend this exhibition and I am really excited about it, can’t wait to share with you my experience. Have a nice week ahead!
