Minimalist Apartment For Rent In Warm Colors
A client approached the designer Natalia Bochina with a request to decorate a 38 square meter apartment for rent on
a limited budget. This task became a kind of challenge, and she relied on furniture and
decor to transform the space.

The apartment already had a typical finish from the developer: light-colored walls, laminate
flooring, the necessary plumbing, electrical wiring, and white tiles in the bathroom. The
customer found this solution too plain. He imagined his interior cozy, but at the same
time stylish and modern, with colored accents.

Natalia chose a neutral base and added colored accents. For example, in the design of the kitchen
she used a white headset with simple fronts without milling, it practically merges with the wall
without attracting much attention. The accent is made on textiles – 2 kinds of curtains, one
more dense, mustard color, the other airy, with a print, echoing the pattern on the tiles.

In order for the bright details to look harmonious, they must echo each other, so yellow also
appears in the furniture and decor. In this project, designer paid a lot of attention to kitchen textiles
and serving pieces. Tablecloths, napkins, tableware are not expensive, but it is these details
that can completely transform the interior!

In the living room, blue textiles (curtains, carpet and sofa cushions) contrast with a sunny
yellow sofa and poster. This cheerful color palette immediately sets up a positive mood,
helping to look at life in a new way. Yellow is present in the whole interior except for the
bathroom: there a combination of white and blue was used to create a feeling of freshness and
cleanliness.

Designer also thought about functional storage spaces: a dresser with drawers, a convenient closet
in the living room and a sofa with a place to store linens. In the kitchen, she used open shelves
instead of overhead cabinets to avoid cluttering the space.

A small closet and appliance storage area was organized in an alcove near the entrance.
Doors or a sliding system did not fit into the budget, so a mustard-yellow curtain appeared.
To make the interior look welcoming and cozy, she added decorative elements: a vase of
unusual shape, posters, floor lamp, pouffe and mirrors. Furniture and appliances for the
bathroom are simple, from Ikea. A lot of time was spent looking for a quality sofa with an
orthopedic mattress: Natalia wanted it to last as long as possible.
As a result, they ended up with a minimalist apartment with bright colored accents, ready to
welcome tenants.
