A Unique Apartment Transformation on the Shores of Cyprus
An apartment on the shores of Cyprus was designed for a couple, a psychologist wife and a businessman husband, who wanted a space for relaxation, perhaps for family vacations by the sea. The apartment was designed with a contemporary theme infused with ethnic motifs.
The floors, ceilings, and walls were already finished, so the focus shifted to furniture, lighting, and textiles. Simple, modern furniture was chosen to avoid overwhelming the interior with excessive ethnic elements. Accent pieces like bedside tables and a chest of drawers, one of which featured hand-painted Eastern-inspired art, were incorporated to introduce contrast.
In the bedrooms, neutral walls and textiles were blended with vibrant accents. A red headboard, a matching decorative chest, pillows, curtains with bold floral prints, and a custom made painting, featuring ethnic motifs, added splashes of color and character to the rooms.
In the bathroom, the old tub was replaced with a new one featuring a glass enclosure, complemented by neutral white furnishings. Woven baskets for laundry and accessories introduced an ethnic touch. Similarly, the kitchen was styled with a sleek white cabinet, modern appliances, and exotic accessories for a touch of flair.
The living room in this project provides a visual contrast to the kitchen, effectively separating the spaces. It exudes warmth and tactile comfort, with a soft and incredibly cozy Diesel sofa that beckons for relaxation. Warm, mustard hues in the carpet echo the texture of wooden cabinets and the flooring. Graphic coffee tables with rough-hewn tabletops serve as an excellent backdrop for beloved accessories.
A significant detail in this project was the terrace, which was transformed into a relaxing space for the couple to enjoy the beautiful view of the sea and the surroundings.
