Install a New Roof

A new roof is the perfect example of a seasonal project. You want to be sure it’s done well before the nasty and cold weather comes in, so spring and summer tend to be very popular times for roofing. As for whether or not your roof needs replacing, there are a few signs to look for that will answer your question of when is the right time to replace it.

Some of the most common signs that your roof needs attention are shingles that are buckling or curling, missing shingles, the age of the roof (typically 20-25 years is the maximum lifespan), a buildup of granules in the gutters, holes or missing patches, and shingles missing in the roof valleys.

Landscaping Projects

Landscaping projects can also be tackled during the summer months, as you can take advantage of longer days in terms of sunlight, and drier conditions. While decking and fencing can last many years to come, maintenance is often required on your end. After a couple of years’ worth of sun and various weather conditions to contend with, it may be time to re-stain the deck and fencing. Summer is obviously the best time to get this done.
