Home Tour: Beautiful Eclectic Villa At The Heart of Bodrum Peninsula
Sami Savatli’s latest project is a fresh and whimsical twist with deliberate originality in one of the luxurious homes of Yalıkavak, which is one of the lively towns of Bodrum Peninsula known for its great docking of many fantastic yachts and recognized high-end restaurants and bars.
The single-storey Bodrum summer home encompasses a closed space of 300m2 and shelters rooms that include – a living room, dining room, kitchen and four bedrooms designed with consideration to overlook the garden and the sea.
Sami Savatli brings a new dynamic and sophisticated aesthetic bringing about a decoration of rich materials and textures that combines deep exquisite undertones of lighting and accessories with powerful bold furniture to animate a gracefully stylish and yet calming space.
The mastermind behind the transformation of the single-storey summer house – renowned artist and designer Sami Savatli talks about the approach and process of his design, “For this specific design, I preferred to use mellow colored hints and textures to blend perfectly with the lighting arrangements especially placed to bring out its laidback ambiance. I generally prefer approaching designs with rich and refined details.”
For this newly designed serene home, the designer carefully designed and curated the furniture and lighting fixtures from his own collection – made of different glassed and perforated metal surfaces with several kinds of lamps complementing the house with light pastel colors to reflect as much natural light coming in throughout the home.
These subtle and deep colors with their terrific lighting would not be complete without the sophisticated flair of its elaborate base – the hall and dining room flooring was parquetted with marbled black and white Italian Terrazo.
Savatli explains about the colored tones and furniture pieces harmoniously going together, “All doors and cabinets are made out of classic blackened wood along with coffee tables made out of authentic glass and marble in contrast with the natural bronzed lighting details and nude tinges brushing throughout the house, making up a very warm and tasteful colored palette especially tailored for a beautiful summer day and night.”
“Before designing a house, I try to imagine living in that house first to capture the essence of what the inhabitants may need. It is worthwhile to recreate the kind of beauty and energy that the family can now live comfortably in,” he says.
Ralph Lauren Home, Jonathan Adler, Beymen Home, L’Objet, Tom Dixon, Rizzoli & Yargıcı Homeworks are the brands that were used and integrated for the interiors selection alongside Sami Savatlı’s collections.
