Milan during Salone Del Mobile becomes one of the most interesting cities in the world. Streets are flooded with tourists, you can see art installations on almost every corner and everywhere you can try delicious Italian food. This post is dedicated to this incredible city – world’s capital of design and how we saw it behind the prism of our lense.
The first thing that every tourist coming to Milan is obliged to see is incredible Duomo, this year it had phantasmagoric surroundings – Afrcian animals, tropical jungle and huge copy of the famous UP5 armchair.
The Victor Emmanuel II Gallery is located a little away from the Duomo and connects the cathedral square with Piazza La Scala. It was built in the 70s of the 19th century and at that time was the largest shopping gallery in Europe. Here you can find expensive boutiques and elegant cafes. The gallery is a magnificent example of 19th-century architecture.
The historic district of Cinque Vie is the oldest part of Milan, located between Cordusio Square, Meravigli and Orefici streets. There are many Roman archaeological sites in the area, such as the theater, the imperial palace, and the imperial mint. In addition, there are many ancient churches, such as – Santa Maria alla Porta (baroque pearl of Milan), San Sebastiano, San Giorgio el Palazzo, Santa Maria Podone, San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore.
