Before and After: Apartment in Blue and Green
Hello, friends!
Tomorrow I am officially out of the office for ten days – I am going for vacation to Greece! Can’t wait )) Before I switch of my mobile and disconnect all social media I want to share with you the recent project that I have done.
Here are some of the photos “before” – to be honest, when I first looked at this apartment I didn’t know how it is possible to stage it without doing major renovation.
First of all we decided to get rid of all unnecessary furniture. I thought of replacing huge leather armchairs with one sofa, throw away huge useless cupboard from the living room which basically served as the display of vintage tableware. Here is how I planned the new layout of the living room:
In the bedroom I wanted to take out the chest of drawers and put it in the living room using as a TV stand. The kitchen also required some changes in layout:
When we throw away the cupboard from the living room, we discovered that part of the wallpaper was missing, so we decided to change wall coverings in that room. The room was very dark so I decided to paint it all white and to add some bright colors. Here is how it looks now (Photography by Olga Shangina) :
The curtains were bought in Ikea and I painted the bottom part with textile dye. The wall panel made of mirror tiles added additional volume and light to the space. I decided to keep some of the vintage items from the apartment to add some charm and personality.
I have tried to copy amazing painting by Laurence Amelie for the bedroom:
Here is how the the bedroom looks after:
On the balcony we removed the ugly yellow covering and painted the railing white.
Finally the kitchen:
Of course many decisions of this project were dictated by a very small budget. However, I am quite pleased with the outcome. What do you think?
