Creative Things To Do With Your Spare Room
Have you got a spare bedroom in your house? Lucky you! A spare bedroom is great, but more often than not, it lies unused half the time. Sure, your parents come and stay once or twice a year. Maybe some friends from out of town need a place to crash. But what about the rest of the year? Is it really worth setting it up as a bedroom?
In this post, I’m going to talk about some exciting options to turn your spare room into something more functional. More exciting! Your spare room should be a place you use regularly. Otherwise, it’s just wasted space. Here are some tip-top ideas for you.
Games room – This is probably your husband’s top choice, and it’s not a bad idea to keep him out of the way once in awhile! You could install a pool table, retro arcade games, and a jukebox. You can even hire a games room company to help turn that space into a true funzone. Install a mini fridge, and keep it topped up with drinks, and he’ll be busy for hours. The only trouble is, you’ll also want to get in on the action!
Gym – We all find it difficult to make time for the gym. But, wouldn’t it be so much easier if you had your very own equipment installed at home? You don’t need to spend a fortune on equipment either. Get your hands on a second hand treadmill or elliptical machine, and you’re all set for cardio. Fill it with a few weights and workout mats, and you’re good to go.
Studio – Perhaps you’ve got a creative side, just waiting to be unleashed. Maybe you’re a painter, dancer, or musician. Turn that spare room into a usable space for your hobby or passion. Create a makeshift recording studio, and fill the room with guitars and instruments. Set up your easel, and create a room full of artistic inspiration! This is where a minimalist design will work wonders.
Playroom – If you’ve got little ones under your feet every day, why not give them a playroom! It’s a dedicated space where they can let their imaginations run wild. It’s a place where all their toys can live, and they can play to their heart’s content. It’s a great way to keep toys and mess out of the kitchen and living room! Let them choose the colour of the walls, and really make it their own. They’ll love it!
