10 Great Interior Design Blogs you shouldn’t miss
Why blogging? Perhaps this question asks every interior designer at some stage. The answer can be arguable, though I think today it is a must for every professional, serious about his job and I have given some good reasons for it in this post. If despite all of them you still find reasons for not blogging (lack of time, writing block, etc), I am sure you can’t give me reason good enough for not reading blogs of another people from the same field as you. It is a great way to stay updated of what is happening in the industry, learn about quickly changing trends, find new ideas and get inspired.
Below is the list of blogs that I read daily and find very useful for all interior designers.
Written by charming Radostina Boseva, her posts are always cute and sweet like a candy. I think the biggest talent of Radostina is to find pretty things – her blog is a wonderful collection of stunning interiors, amazing photography and beautiful styling. I read this blog to get my daily portion of beauty to get inspired for the whole day.
By far one of the most popular blogs among interior design professionals. It is a huge hub of posts covering wide range of topics, among of my most favourite are “Before + After” and “DIY projects”.
Sunday Times called Abigail Ahern “The woman rocking the world of Interiors”, which I completely agree. Her approach to design is totally new, fresh and free from cliches and established “norms”. I love her style, but moreover her confidence and novelty-seeking. Abigail is always very generous in sharing her knowledge with others. I absolutely don’t understand where she can find time to write quality posts almost every day, publish books, make workshops and do her primary job – being wonderful interior designer. Her newest projects: “Style surgery” and “Forum” are very interesting and I strongly recommend to check them out.
Cassandra Lavalle, editor of Coco+Kelley, knows all about styling. Doesn’t matter, whether it is fashion, food or interiors. You can find many inspiring ideas, interesting design decisions, get useful tips. In the “Colour” category you can find selection of beautiful rooms picked by colour which I find very useful when working on my moodboards for the projects.
This is a wonderful design blog by Paloma Contreras. As other styling blogs she covers wide range of categories including fashion, home decor and arts. Her post, sometimes very short, like “Week’s quote” or ” Fabulous Room Friday” are always very inspiring.
This amazing blog I have discovered recently. Created by Kellie Van, it has very interesting posts about styling. Most of all I like quick and easy DIY projects, stylish photography and great tips on home improvement.
This blog is a real find for designers! You will discover a lot of creative ideas, wonderful DIY and crafts projects, beautiful examples of upcycled and repurposed art. This wonderful blog changes our perception that recycled objects are something old and ugly, instead of this it inspires us to look around and to find new innovative purpose for the ordinary objects surrounding us.
Turquoise is my favorite colour. For all those who have the same weakness for it as me was created this blog. All things turquoise, all hues of turquoise, stunning turquoise interiors and great turquoise products can be found here.
Marvelous Scandinavian interiors for those who loves and appreciates this style. Very laconically and neatly designed (like all scandinavian homes in general), this blog has concept “more images, less words”, which works great as sometimes picture is worth a thousand words.
Wonderful blog, where you can find information about latest trends, learn about design process, get very useful tips from professional interior designer. Taryn V. Lund, the founder of Chicago ReDesign has recently received Best of Houzz 2013 award, which is absolutely well deserved.
Happy reading!
