Hello my dear readers!

It’s been a while a wanted to share with you the photos of the small makeover project, which I’ve done while I was in the U.S.

So my boyfriend has recently moved from Moscow to the U.S. and I came to help him to settle in. It is a lovely flat in a nice area near Washington. The only thing which he didn’t like was the colour of the entryway:

Baby blue and coffee brown isn’t really a good match…

When thinking on which colour we could repaint it, we stumbled upon this painting, which he brought from Russia.

While he was still in Moscow he had done a really nice custom metal framing for it. It has a mount made of canvas painted in dark burgundy colour. We really loved how it looked like and decided to take it as the colour for the entryway too. We have taken several paint chips from the shop to decide which one will match it best. IMG_3496Then my boyfriend thought it might be a good idea to give the frame a little bit more distressed, “shabby” look. He left some marks on the metal with the hammer and then painted it with the brass paint:

In the meantime I prepared the hallway for painting: covered all doors with a film and all skirtings with a masking tape:

After two hours the entryway looked like this:

We really loved the result, especially after hanging all artwork and putting accessories around:
