Happy Thursday, my dear readers!

Rainy, gloomy and cold in Moscow. I try to avoid going out and for the past three days I almost became a cave woman, working from home and not seeing anybody. The big plus was that it gave me opportunity to extensively work on the latest interior design project. I thought I would share with you in this post my progress.

So my clients are a young couple of 27 years old. They just bought a one bedroom apartment, which they want to renovate entirely. After the briefing we finalized that it should look contemporary, warm and airy. They like pastel colours and want overall smooth and relaxed feel with the use of some bright accents. The apartment is really small (only 35 sq m) so I need to be really creative with the storage and zoning, considering the fact that they are waiting for a baby.

My initial concept proposal included three choices of the colour scheme.

My client has chosen option #1 – warm creamy beige and sand as a background with touches of navy blue as accents.

The next step was to conduct a survey and make a plan. Apart from measurements, it was important to take a camera and make lots of photos as well as notes about all unusual features in this apartment. I used Archicad to make my measurement plan (in one of the consequent posts I will write in detail how I did it).

Working on furniture layouts I prefer to use  Live Interior 3D – this software allows to draw plans and preview them in 3D very quickly and easily.

Once the furniture plan was finalized, it was time to make electricity plan – define where will be sockets, switches and lights.

At the moment I am working on transforming my concept into actual decorative scheme. Apart from renderings, I like to use photoshop, which allows to pick precise furniture and textures and see how they work together:

If you like my design style and want to work with me, it is not necessary to be located in Moscow. I offer e-design packages, that will be fully customized to your style, space and budget. All what you need to do is to send me the measurements of your room and then contact me to book a slot for us to chat via Skype.
