I was thrilled when Chairish  (an exclusive online marketplace for vintage and used furniture) asked me to design a Mad Men-inspired room. Yes, Mad Men’s final set of episodes is set to air beginning April 5; so we’ll be saying our final goodbyes to Don, the agency, and their iconic decor!

Using inspiration from the Mad Men set, I needed to recreate a present day mid-century modern style. Personally, I loooove this style, which is characterized by simplicity, bright and intense colours, natural shapes and democratic design, so I’ve had so much fun on Sunday putting together this styleboard.

In my moodboard I created the design of Don Draper’s Office. As a starting point and inspiration for a colour scheme I used the bold and colorful artwork that provided the perfect contrast with dark rich wood furniture.

I’ve used dark blue shade of grey as the wall paint colour – what a perfect backdrop, which made all other colours from the scheme pop! Gorgeous olive green sofa, brown leather office chair, brass pendant ceiling light with a matching floor lamp have finished the look:
