Sometimes you can find inspirational ideas in the places where you don’t expect to find them at all. My friend invited me for a coffee and a cupcake and what I expected to be an ordinary coffee shop turned out as one of the cutest places I have seen recently. Owned by a lovely lady Shirin it has the most delicious cupcakes in the city and absolutely lovely interior design.

Shirin refused from the help of professional interior designers and was decorating the place only by herself. This resulted in very intimate and feminine look, free from design “cliches” which so many other commercial places have.

I don't know whether she took inspiration from Marie Antoinette movie and its игривую ambience of Rococo period but this place totally reminded me of it:

For the walls Shirin has selected a combination of soft pastel pink and green wallpaper and also made very cozy niches with cushioned benches. Louis XV armchairs upholstered in trendy flowery fabric match very well the chosen style.
The rococo theme was then continued with fancy crystal chandelier, vintage looking table lamp and decorative plates with pastoral plots,

I totally loved the finny posters which were used to decorate the walls in the entrance aria and doors:

These cute little details prove the fact that design doesn't have to be sophisticated for creating warm and cozy look.

Shirin also arranged a small boutique where she sells handmade jewelry and Iranian Artwork (I found some amazing patchwork and hand embroidered cushion covers):

This fabulous place is called “Shirin Cupcake” and can be found in Baku, on Jafar Jabarli street, 14.
